Relationships & Life Stages

At Willamette Wellness Center, we understand that our relationships and life experiences shape who we are and how we heal. We offer couples and relationship therapy for partners across Milwaukie, Portland, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, Oregon City, and nearby communities, helping couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and work through conflict with compassion and intention.

For adolescents and teens (ages 14+), we provide therapy that supports identity development, emotional regulation, and the unique challenges of growing up in today’s world. We also walk alongside clients navigating pregnancy, fertility struggles, postpartum transitions, and pregnancy loss, offering a safe, grounded place to process grief, identity shifts, and the emotional weight of these life moments.

We recognize that many individuals also face challenges with dependence or compulsive behaviors, including struggles related to pornography, substances, shopping, hypersexuality, or other patterns that feel out of control. At WWC, our therapists use trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to help clients understand the origins of these behaviors, reduce shame, and build healthier, more supportive coping strategies.

Whether you connect with us through online therapy across Oregon and Washington or in-person sessions at our Milwaukie clinic, our goal is to provide affirming, culturally responsive care that helps you move forward with clarity, resilience, and hope.

Relationships & Life Stages

At Willamette Wellness Center, we believe that every relationship—no matter its structure—deserves support, care, and a safe place to grow. Our couples therapy services support partners across Milwaukie, Portland, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, Oregon City, and surrounding communities, whether you’re in a traditional monogamous relationship, an ethical non-monogamous partnership, or exploring dynamics such as kink or BDSM.

Therapy provides a non-judgmental space where partners can communicate more openly, resolve conflicts, and deepen their connection. Couples come to us to strengthen intimacy, rebuild trust after infidelity, address communication barriers, or explore new relational dynamics with clarity and consent. Our clinicians meet you where you are—with respect, curiosity, and compassion.

Our couples counseling team includes Master’s-level and above clinicians trained in advanced relationship modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Attachment-based approaches. Your therapist will tailor treatment to your values, boundaries, and relationship goals, ensuring care that honors the structure and identity of your partnership. Together, we’ll help you strengthen your bond, nurture your connection, and build a foundation of trust, communication, and mutual understanding—whether you join us in person in Milwaukie or through online therapy across Oregon and Washington.

Adolescent mental health concerns often arise during a crucial period of growth and change. Teens may face anxiety, depression, identity exploration, peer pressure, self-esteem struggles, or the impact of trauma and family conflict.

Because adolescence involves rapid physical, emotional, and cognitive shifts, teens in the Portland metro area—including Milwaukie, Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Oregon City, and nearby communities—are especially vulnerable to feeling overwhelmed or misunderstood.

Healthy support from parents, caregivers, teachers, and peers plays an essential role in helping adolescents feel safe enough to share what they’re experiencing. Early intervention and age-appropriate mental health care can make a significant difference in a teen’s long-term emotional well-being and development.

At Willamette Wellness Center, our clinicians provide teen therapy for adolescents ages 14 and older, offering online sessions across Oregon and Washington as well as in-person care at our Milwaukie office. Our team is specially trained in evidence-based approaches for teens, helping them build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen identity development, and navigate the challenges of growing up with confidence and support.

Clients navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum changes, or pregnancy loss often seek therapy to process the anxiety, grief, isolation, and complex emotions that can accompany these experiences. Many people in the Portland metro area—including Milwaukie, Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, West Linn, and Oregon City—turn to mental health support to find a safe space to speak openly, develop coping strategies, and strengthen their emotional resilience. Therapy offers validation without judgment, helping clients articulate their fears, worries, and hopes.

Our therapists help clients build practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and identity shifts, fostering a sense of empowerment during moments that may feel overwhelming. For those experiencing pregnancy loss, therapy can support healthy mourning, help clients make sense of their experience, and offer steady guidance during a deeply painful time.

At Willamette Wellness Center, we have therapists specially trained in the needs of women, mothers, and birthing people. Whether you’re connecting through online therapy across Oregon and Washington or meeting in person at our Milwaukie office, we’re here to support you through fertility decisions, pregnancy, postpartum transitions, or loss with compassion and care.

In mental health terms, pornography dependence and other compulsive behaviors—such as compulsive shopping, spending, sexual behaviors, or digital overuse—refer to patterns that begin to interfere with daily functioning, relationships, work, or emotional well-being.

Many clients in the Portland metro area, including Milwaukie, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Oregon City, Happy Valley, and nearby communities, seek therapy when these behaviors feel out of control or when shame, secrecy, or distress begin to affect their quality of life. People struggling with these issues often face feelings of guilt, embarrassment, or fear of judgment, which can make it difficult to reach out for help. Stigma and silence around topics like pornography use or compulsive spending can also prevent individuals from recognizing the extent of the problem—or from realizing that support is available and effective.

Therapy provides a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore what’s driving these behaviors, understand underlying emotional triggers, reduce shame, and build healthier coping strategies. Whether clients connect through online therapy across Oregon and Washington or in-person sessions at our Milwaukie office, Willamette Wellness Center offers compassionate, evidence-based support that helps individuals regain stability, strengthen relationships, and move toward lasting change.
