I approach therapy from a relational and client-centered perspective that utilizes elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy (NT). I believe that the way that we interact with our emotions and experiences has a huge impact on well-being, and I enjoy helping clients have a more neutral or observational approach to these things as a way to make life feel less overwhelming.
I see mental health as one element of a full life, which leads me to treat it as something that affects and is affected by many different social, cultural, biological, and spiritual factors. Helping clients learn to better identify and understand what has contributed to where they are today can help them feel more prepared to move forward in a positive way.
I have experience working with a range of ages, but most of my experience has been with teenagers and young adults. I have worked with many people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and/or trauma, but I have a particular interest in working with clients who have experienced religious trauma and/or deal with chronic illness.
