PCA
Professional Counselor Associate
Hello, my name is Josh, my pronouns are He/Him, it’s nice to meet you.

My approach for therapy is to assist you on your journey of self-exploration while uncovering and addressing patterns that may be hindering your progress and relationships. Gaining self-awareness through therapy helps us understand our own needs, emotions, and patterns of behavior. This helps us communicate better and set healthy boundaries. When we are aware of our strengths and vulnerabilities we can navigate conflict more easily, avoid projecting insecurities onto others, and foster deeper connections.
My therapeutic approach draws from a foundation in Person-Centered therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Psychodynamic therapy. I am deeply committed to providing LGBT+affirming care, which means I am resolute in validating and supporting the distinctive needs of this community. Additionally, I am an advocate for individuals interested in exploring ethical non-monogamy (ENM), as well as those in the kink community. My practice embraces diversity and all parts of you are welcome.
Outside of counseling, you can usually find me exploring other worlds as an avid gaymer, movie enthusiast, and bookworm. I enjoy playing DnD, board games, and magic the gathering with friends, and using astrology and tarot for self-discovery. Embracing my identity as a chubby, gay, nerdy, gamer, and theatre enthusiast, I’ve learned firsthand what it’s like to grapple with the feeling of not quite fitting in or measuring up. But you know what? It’s these very experiences that fuel my passion for creating a space where everyone—no matter their quirks or differences—feels seen, heard, and valued.
2022: Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling: George Fox University
2019: Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies: Arizona State University
I work best with adults (18+). My specialty areas include men’s issues, LGBT+ community issues, Ethical Non-Monogamy, dating, relationships, anxiety, and those who have felt like they have never quite fit in whether they be geeks, nerds, gamers, fandom lovers, etc.
