Alicia Sager

LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My preferred pronouns are they/them/theirs.

My offerings are to provide support for adolescents, adults, families, and couples who are seeking a safe and meaningful therapeutic experience. At the start of our therapeutic relationship, I strive to be sensitive to your personal needs and goals while taking your environment, culture, and life experience into consideration. I will help you identify and recognize your strengths. I encourage feedback at the end of each session about what is and isn’t working well for you. My approach is authentic and collaborative, centering on you and your healing experience. I help my clients heal by recognizing limiting patterns of thinking, behavior, and relating. With increased insight and acceptance, I hope to help my clients transform through their limiting patterns by utilizing coping skills and practicing asking for support for managing symptoms and urges.

My primary therapeutic approaches are Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, and Health at Every Size. I believe feelings are clues and that feelings are showing up for legitimate reasons and acceptance of them may lead to relief from suffering. I also believe those that are suffering can also find meaning in their suffering. I strive to work as a guide with my clients in finding their own path to meaning and healing so that they may not only cope and grow through painful emotions, situations, and life circumstances, but thrive.

Clinical Specialties

My specialties include eating disorders, body image, anxiety, depression, trauma, and attachment. I love to work with non-conforming folks who identify themselves as part of the greater LGBTQ+ community or have felt marginalized in some way resulting in feeling forgotten or misunderstood. I want to help those who do not fit into a cookie cutter mold of therapy and want to feel fully supported in being their authentic self.
