Bringing Trauma-Informed Therapy Back In Person: Willamette Wellness Center Opens in Milwaukie, Oregon

A Calming New Space for Trauma-Informed Care in the Portland–Milwaukie Area

Since 2020, our trauma-informed clinicians have helped individuals, couples, and families across Oregon and Washington find hope and healing through therapy. Now, as we celebrate six years of service in 2026, we’re thrilled to bring therapy back in person with the opening of our newly remodeled 2,000-square-foot office in Milwaukie, Oregon—just minutes from Portland, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and Oregon City.

This new space allows us to better serve our growing community throughout Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties, while continuing to provide secure online counseling in Oregon and Washington. With a team of 45 full-time, Master’s-level, board-certified therapists, you can now choose the care that fits your life—whether that’s in person or online.

Healing often begins in the moments when you feel seen, safe, and truly heard. At Willamette Wellness Center (WWC), that belief guides everything we do.

Why the Move Back to In-Person Therapy Matters

Both client feedback and clinical best practices informed our decision to expand to in-person care. After years of connecting through screens, many clients told us they missed the simple comfort of sitting in a calm, shared space — the sense of presence that can’t be replicated online.

Additionally, some insurance companies are now encouraging or requiring therapy providers to offer in-person options, helping ensure that everyone has equitable access to care. By opening our Milwaukie office, we’re making it easier to meet those requirements—and more importantly, to meet your needs for connection and support.

Our new Milwaukie counseling space was designed to nurture healing, featuring:

  • Six private, newly remodeled therapy suites for confidential sessions
  • A peaceful, light-filled lobby designed to promote calm and comfort
  • A relaxing therapist break room and kitchen that support wellness and balance for our care team

Every detail matters — from the colors on the walls to the way the light falls in the lobby. The goal? To create a space where you can breathe, feel safe, and begin meaningful trauma work.

Plus, we offer dedicated parking, so you can arrive, relax, and not worry about finding a spot. We’re also fully ADA compliant, with an elevator and accessible public restrooms to ensure every client feels comfortable and supported from the moment they arrive.

Expert Trauma Therapists Serving Portland, Milwaukie, and Surrounding Communities

Each therapist at Willamette Wellness Center is Master’s-level educated, board-certified, and highly trained in trauma-informed care. Our team specializes in helping you understand how trauma impacts the body and mind—and how to rebuild a sense of safety, trust, and confidence.

We provide evidence-based, trauma-focused therapy, including:

While these approaches are highly effective online, many clients find that in-person EMDR or body-based trauma therapy allows for a deeper healing experience—one that engages sensory and relational awareness differently than online. Our Milwaukie therapy office provides the privacy, safety, and environment needed for that deeper work.

Expanding Access to Trauma-Informed Therapy Across the Portland Metro Area

Our new office expands access to high-quality, trauma-informed therapy for residents across Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties, including Milwaukie, Portland, Lake Oswego, Tigard, and Beaverton.

In 2026, we’ll host group therapy sessions, trauma workshops, and community events to help people connect, learn, and heal together.

As proud members of the Lake Oswego and North Clackamas Chambers of Commerce, we’re committed to supporting our neighbors through compassionate, evidence-based mental health care and trauma-informed leadership.
