LICSW

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Hello my name is Emily and it is nice to meet you!  My pronouns are she/her.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker  and Licensed Clinical Supervisor.  With over 20 years experience, I have treated children, adolescents, adults and elders as individuals, families and groups, in some of the largest and most diverse cities in the United States. I’ve provided care in a variety of settings, including school, clinic, home health, hospice and hospital. I’ve provided full time virtual therapy since 2020. I consider it a true honor to work with clients and witness their journeys.

I support the holistic healing of mind, body and spirit by helping clients create the space needed to tap into mind-body awareness. I co-create a treatment approach with clients that is accessible, supportive and actionable. I typically work with evidence based practices including mindfulness, self-compassion and cognitive behavioral therapy. I provide clients with tools as they journey toward greater peace and acceptance. I believe that the sticky spaces in life are opportunities to create change, and that everyone deserves therapy and opportunities for support and self-reflection.

My goal is to create a safe container in session that empowers clients to do challenging but transformative work. My favorite clients are seekers and lifelong learners who wish to cultivate curiosity, live intentionally and practice kindness toward self and others. I wish all beings everywhere happiness, wholeness and freedom, and I strive to create this for myself and others with my words, thoughts, and actions.

I honor all forms of healing. In addition to my social work background, I am a Certified Yoga Instructor (CYT 200), Certified Reiki and Integrative Energy Healer, and Certified End of Life Doula. I help clients seek a higher level of self-mastery, spiritual development and life purpose. My deep understanding of the physical body, nervous system and subtle energy body, along with years of experience as a medical social worker, allow me to provide specialized support to clients with new or existing medical diagnoses, chronic illness and pain, and those facing end of life issues. I also specialize in caregiver support, grief and loss.

I am often found walking in the woods, practicing yoga, reading, volunteering at the animal shelter, and cuddling Gumdrop, resident micro panther.
