Jacob Lazen

Clinical Social Work Associate
Hi my name is Jacob. Nice to meet you! My pronouns are He/Him.
I am so excited to support you on your journey of mental health. My goal is to create a safe and engaging path where you can discover new strengths and find your way to healing and change. With a background in anthropology and archeology, I bring a deep respect for cultural identity, a commitment to social justice and a curiosity about what lies beneath the surface of the human psyche. As a strengths-based therapist, I see you as the expert in your life and I believe in your power, even in the midst of struggle and pain. Using a combination of evidence-based modalities, I’ll help you learn new coping skills and new ways of relating to yourself and to others.
I work with teens age 14 and older and individuals who need help with trauma, PTSD, addiction, grief, loss, anxiety and depression and/or relationship conflict. I have a background in the neurodevelopmental impact of trauma and I use a combination of evidence-based therapies and tools that include: CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am particularly welcoming to children, members of the LGBTQ community, people of color and people who identify as neurodivergent. In my personal life, I am a scuba diver, film enthusiast, music/sound designer/producer and parent to Triscuit, my rescue dog.
