Jordan Valentine

CSWA

Clinical Social Work Associate

Hello my name is Jordan and it is nice to meet you!

My pronouns are: She/Hers

My work in mental wellness is guided by the belief that all humans have the ability to heal when they have the tools and safe space to do so. My hope is to provide that space where folks can show up as their authentic self, free from fear of judgment. I believe that we are shaped by our experiences and our environments, and my goal in this work is to support people in investigating and making meaning of their stories and their contexts with compassion. I recognize individuals as experts of their own lives and work in collaboration with clients to come into their own power. I work from an anti-oppressive worldview and offer a strength-based approach.

Education

I studied for and received my Master’s degree in Social Work at Portland State University. Prior to
that, I worked as a case manager in a community-based mental health setting in the Rogue Valley. In this work, I supported clients who held severe and persistent mental health diagnoses in accessing resources for housing, healthcare, food security, culturally specific services, and other areas depending on individual needs. I also provided support in learning coping techniques as we navigated these systems.

Clinical Specialties

Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
are a few modalities that I am interested in, though I recognize that individuals have different needs and preferences. I also am interested in the ways in which trauma shows up in the body and how to identify and regulate responses. As we build a trusting therapeutic partnership, we will explore what works best for you and will remain malleable to your needs and preferences.
