Get to Know Castine Friberg, LPC

Willamette Wellness Center is home to many talented professionals. I recently chatted with Licensed Professional Counselor + our new Clinical Team Lead, Castine Friberg, to learn more about her career and life outside the profession.

What brought you to this profession?
It was a natural extension of my own mental health journey. I realized healing can be exponential, not singular. I wanted to pay-it-forward and help others understand that each of us has both the power to be restored and to restore. I also felt inspired to partner with others in healing any past traumas that could stifle growth and vibrance. We all deserve to live our best life.

What does a win in a session look like?
Tears! Laughter! Honesty! Tears provide a truly authentic expression of an emotional experience, as does laughter! And honesty is essential to any form of healing and growth. 

True healing from a client comes when they can witness their own pain with compassion.

What brought you to WWC?
I admired that Willamette Wellness Center unapologetically advocates for individuals who have experienced trauma, abuse, judgment, oppression and marginalization. 

When I started working here, my personal mental health improved exponentially. From day one, Arin empowered me to use my innate skills and celebrated my personality. It’s so validating to have your assets celebrated and to have a cheerleader in your corner!

What do you do in your free time?
You can find me running with my puppy most days of the week. I love to camp and go backpacking – my soul is truly recharged in the outdoors.
